The Grapefruit Diet Does NOT Help You Lose Weight

The grapefruit diet has been the talk of famous celebrities and health gurus because they actually think it works. I will admit that grapefruit is a great source of Vitamin C, and changing your diet really does help you lose weight. However, just changing your diet alone, will not be the key to your success. You must also exercise on a daily basis. You are going to get sore, and there will be pain involved, but that is the price everyone has to pay for true weight loss. I don't want to deter anyone from eating a grapefruit a day. It has been proven that grapefruits can help increase your protective HDL cholesterol. Which is a benefit we all could use. The simple claims though that grapefruit alone can help you shed pounds without doing anything else is completely false. There are people that try these types of fad diets, and then in the middle of the night eat a whole box of Oreo cookies. Changing your diet and doing more exercise is the key to losing weight. I'm tired of these "Hollywood" diets trying to get people to be unhealthy. Eating grapefruit alone without getting a source of fiber or protein could be very dangerous. The reason why i am taking out my frustrations on the grapefruit diet is because it was currently featured in the movie "The Black Swan". At the end of the day people will still hold on to their faith in this diet just because of what their favorite actor or actress says. This is no way to live. Think for yourself, eat healthy, and don't forget to exercise. Don't worry that is the sure fire way to lose weight.
